Restore – Planet Compassion

Restore Ramadan Rover, landed on Planet Compassion. Fasting teaches self-discipline and kindness to others. Ramadan is about compassion, mercy, and generosity, not just fasting and praying.

It’s time to restore our Ramadan Rover. 3…2…1…Our rover has successfully landed on Planet Compassion. Fasting teaches us self-discipline and kindness towards others when we stay away from food and all bad deeds. Ramadan is not just about fasting and praying. It is about being compassionate, merciful, and generous with others too.

Planet Compassion

Students will learn that charity is not only about giving money but also kindness through actions, deeds, and mannerisms. During Ramadan, we work on learning to smile more with one another, being patient with each other, and spending more time helping little ones, the elderly, and our neighbors. We ask them to control their arguments and to show tolerance and compassion towards others.

Objective:

Give a compliment to the person whose name the spinner lands on! Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “Allah will not be merciful to those who are not merciful to mankind.” (Sahih al-Bukhari Book 97 Hadith 6). This game will encourage us children to show kindness and gratitude to their families.

Materials Needed:

• Construction paper
• Markers/pens
• Paper clip
• Scissor
• Split pin

Directions:

• Draw a circle on a piece of paper.
• Divide into parts, there should be one part for each member of the family.
• Write the name of a family member in each part.
• Make a hole in the center of the spinner.
• Take a split pin and insert it though the narrowest loop of a paper clip. • Then push the split pin through the hole in the spinner. Make sure not to push it through completely – ensure there is a small gap to allow the paper clip to spin freely.
• Turn the spinner over and open the two feet of the split pin to secure.
•Start spinning!
• The person who spins must give a compliment for the person whose name the spinner lands on.
• Each family member should take a turn.
